Why do you need an Accountant?
Any estates over £325,000 are subject to inheritance tax. This money should be paid to HMRC with six months of death. Dealing with inheritance tax can be complicated because you need to consider both the size of the estate on death as well as any gifts that have been made over the previous seven years.
Dealing with Inheritance Tax can be upsetting and being able to hand over this matter to an accountant can be a great relief to people.
What will your accountant do?
Your Accountant will tell you are liable for now and what you may be liable for a few years down the line. They will consider and exemptions or reflief you may be entitled to. In this way they may be able to minimise your liability.
What should your accountant charge?
Depends on the size and, moreover, complexity of the estate so and accountant will only be able to give an estimate once they have investigated the estate itself.
